Back. To you.

Way Back No. 3

One Noise

Pick one noise.

Just one.

The morning scroll.
The third coffee.
The always-on podcast.
The drink that starts
the evening shift.

Turn it off.

For one day.

Not forever.
One day.

And when the silence
gets uncomfortable,
and it will,
don’t reach for a replacement.

Just say to yourself:

something is trying to get through.

Then listen.

You won’t hear a voice
booming from the clouds.

You’ll hear something better.

Static,
clearing.

From chapter three

What usually happens

You will pick the easiest noise, not the loudest one. Fine. Even the easy one leaves a silence you will want to fill within the hour.

The reach for a replacement is the tell. Swapping the scroll for a podcast is not quiet, it is a change of channel. Let the channel stay off, one day, and see what starts arriving.

One line to carry

Something is trying to get through.

If someone came to mind

Some people read this page and think of one person the whole way through.
If that happened, send them back to themselves. It costs them nothing.

The other Ways Back are in their chapters, one per chapter, all of them free. This one is yours whenever you need it.
