The Receipt

Do this one on paper.

Take your worst one.

The failure
you still flinch from.

Write it down
in two sentences.

And here’s the rule.

No shame words allowed.

Not “I blew it.”
Not “I ruined.”

Just:

what was tried.

What happened.

Then underneath,
one more line.

What it taught you
that you couldn’t have
learned cheaper.

Now look at what you wrote.

That’s not a scar.

That’s a receipt.

You paid for that lesson.

It’s yours now.

The only way to waste it

is to keep flinching
instead of spending it.

From chapter eleven

That’s not a scar. That’s a receipt.

Your worst one, in two sentences. No shame words.

What was tried
What happened
What it taught you that you could not have learned cheaper

The book says paper for this one. This sheet is why.
